Find the right replacement part
Not sure what it's called? That's fine. Send us a photo of your door or window part and any measurements you have.
You can also email sales@nwhardware.co.uk. Please attach photos before sending.
Not sure what to measure?
Choose your part type for a few useful measurements. These guides are optional — you can still contact us without measurements.
Door locks & gearboxes
Backset: the distance from the front of the faceplate to the relevant spindle or keyhole centre, depending on the lock.
PZ: where applicable, the distance between the handle spindle centre and cylinder centre.
Photograph: the whole faceplate, locking points, screw holes and any markings.
Window handles
Screw centres: from the centre of one fixing screw to the centre of the other.
Spindle length: the projecting square spindle, measured from the handle base to its tip.
Photograph: the front, side and fixing arrangement.
Window hinges
Length and width: measure the accessible hinge track and note the fixing-hole positions.
Opening: is the window side-hung or top-hung?
Photograph: the hinge and opening. Don't remove a hinge or disturb a heavy window just to measure it.
Patio door rollers
Wheel diameter: measure across the wheel through its centre.
Wheel width: measure across the running surface.
Photograph: the full roller housing, adjustment points, fixings and markings.
Other parts / not sure
Don't worry if you don't know the part name or measurements. Send a photo of the full component, a close-up of its markings and a photo of where it's fitted. We'll help you work out what's needed.
Measurements vary between products. Please ask us to confirm compatibility if you're unsure before ordering.
